Position Papers
The submission of a position paper is required to be eligible to win awards. Physical copies of position papers must be submitted in person during the first committee session of the conference to your chairs. Delegates are not allowed to plagiarize, or steal other people's words and use it as their own. Chairs may conduct plagiarism checks, and if it is detected, the delegate's sponsor will be notified and the delegate will no longer be eligible for any awards. The use of AI for writing position papers is also strictly prohibited, and will be treated in the same way as plagiarism.
Delegate Performance
Delegates across all committee sessions will be graded on their performance using a standardized rubric. Sections include:
Debate (Moderated and Unmoderated Caucuses)
Resolutions and Problem Solving
Diplomacy and Collaboration
Position Papers
Committee Behavior
In order for HAWKMUN to maintain its fun, diplomatic environment, any forms of discrimination or harassment are strictly prohibited. Delegates may anonymously or directly speak with their chair if any incidents do occur. Anyone found doing such behavior may be disqualified from winning awards, or removed from the conference.
Pre-Writing
Our goal for this conference is to allow delegates to come together under strict timing to figure out resolutions to big issues with their fellow delegates. Prewriting, or writing resolutions outside of committee session time, completely goes against this goal. As such, any delegates found guilty of prewriting may be subject to disqualification from winning awards.
